Farsund

Since we are stuck in Farsund, while waiting for better weather, we took the opportunity to look around. Here are some pictures of the beautiful village.

Eftersom vi är vi inblåsta i Farsund, i väntan på bättre väder, passade vi på att se oss omkring. Här är några bilder på den vackra byn.

Many old well-maintained mostly white wooden houses line the streets with small narrow alleys reminiscent of Southern Europe. Around the center, old style is mixed with new buildings in glass and stone that still fit well together. The surrounding landscape is incredibly beautiful with fjords and mountains.

Många gamla välskötta mestadels vita trähus kantar gatorna med små smala gränder som påminner om Sydeuropa. Runt centrum blandas gammal stil med nya byggnader i glas och sten som ändå passar bra ihop. Landskapet runtom är otroligt vackert med fjordar och fjäll.

Today was Norway's liberation day after World War 2 and the Norwegian flag was seen everywhere. There is a monument raised in remembrance of the occupation with the names of those from this area, who perished in the war.

Idag firades Norges befrielsedag efter 2:a världskriget och den norska flaggan syntes överallt. Monument finns efter ockupationsåren med namnen på de stupade från trakten.

We had to spend an extra day at the harbor when Malin, true to her habit(!), bit off a piece of a tooth and had to visit a Norwegian dentist who luckily had time to see her the same day... Within a radius of 100 m from the harbor and our boat there are facilities such as toilet, shower, laundry facilities, shop, dentist and optician. Norwegian full service!

Vi fick tillbringa en extra dag i hamnen då Malin, sin vana trogen(!), bet av en bit av en tand och fick besöka norsk tandläkare som turligt nog hade tid att ta emot samma dag... Inom radien av 100 m från hamnen där båten ligger, finns faciliteter som toa, dusch, tvättmöjligheter, affär, tandläkare och optiker. Norsk fullservice!

We also managed to fix some bits and bobs on the sailboat. It was Christer's turn to climb the mast.
If the plan and the weather forecast stands, we will leave for Inverness tomorrow, Tuesday, with an estimated arrival on Thursday afternoon.

Lite segelbåtsfix hann vi också med. Det var Christers tur att ge sig upp i masten.
Om planen och väderprognosen håller ger vi oss av till Inverness imorgon tisdag, med beräknad ankomst på torsdag em.
